The fit check tests one piece at one position in one room, against the walls, doors and clearances the plan knows about, and tells you whether it fits. It sits at the bottom of the Items tab on your own home.
Before you test
- Draw the room with walls. The check needs at least one room, and lists rooms by their names in the plan, or as Room 1, Room 2 and so on. Rooms and zones shows how to name them.
- Let the drawing save. A check runs against the saved version, so it waits while changes are unsaved.
Choose the piece and the room
In Fit check, choose a Piece and a Room. The panel shows the piece’s footprint, and fills in the position with the middle of the room.
Set the position and test
- Adjust X and Y, in metres, to where the piece would stand, and Rotation in degrees.
- Choose Test fit. The plan draws the piece’s outline and the space it needs clear, in teal when it fits and red when something clashes.
- Choose Clear to remove the outline and try another position.
Read the verdict
The result is one of three: “Fits the tested position”, “Clashes at the tested position” and “Fit cannot be confirmed”. A clash lists each conflict the check found.
