Casa Eje: central kitchen between a bedroom and long living room
Explore Casa Eje, a study of ResPlan plan 9649: central kitchen between a bedroom and long living room.
Casa Eje is the editorial name for this study of ResPlan plan 9649, reconstructed in 3D by Lodnor. A short crosswise passage joins the central kitchen to the bedroom and living room on either side. Two bathrooms sit below the bedroom and passage, creating a small step in the outer footprint.
The kitchen occupies the middle of the span
Casa Eje gives the kitchen the central position between a bedroom and a long living room. A short crosswise passage provides the connection. Below the bedroom and passage, two bathrooms create a small step in the outline, so the lower edge does not form one continuous straight band.
Its reported model bounds are about 9.47 × 5.29 m in width and depth. This is a useful orientation cue for the cutaway, not a measured statement about a property. Judge the arrangement first, then verify the particular dimensions a proposal depends on.

A crosswise route meets a working room
The passage keeps the plan from being understood merely as three rooms in a line. It is the point where access to the kitchen, bedroom and living room must be reconciled. Look for the approach to the bathrooms as a further demand on that same connection.
Furnish the living length without crowding its head
A long living room invites a sequence of seating and dining, but its connection to the central passage needs room first. Concentrating furniture at that end may waste the rest of the length. Compare a layout that distributes activity with one that crowds the kitchen approach.
Mark the junction before placing the table
Find the crosswise passage in the public cutaway. Mark its connection to the living room and sketch a dining table near that point, then farther along the living bay. Compare the bedroom route and kitchen approach with chairs pulled away from the table.
Measure at the junction where living-room furniture approaches the crosswise passage, because the generous length beyond it cannot resolve a narrow connection at the kitchen end.
