The free option can already be enough
Sweet Home 3D’s official download page offers a free desktop version as well as paid distributions with different bundled assets. That makes it a serious option for someone who is willing to build the plan themselves. A subscription is not inherently necessary to obtain a furnished model or a reusable 3D file.[1][3]
Choose based on the work you want to own. Sweet Home 3D offers the lowest software price here when you can manually author the model. INK TO BRICK charges for a workflow that begins with reconstruction and keeps editable directions, source-linked presentation images, public 3D and downstream files together.
Both workflows can produce portable geometry
Sweet Home 3D’s desktop guide explains OBJ export with a companion MTL file and texture images, and gives Blender reuse as an example. Keep those companion files together. The guide explicitly excludes this export from its online and mobile versions; choose the right edition for the handoff.[3]
INK TO BRICK provides ten 3D formats: GLB, packaged glTF, OBJ, COLLADA, STL, 3MF, SKP, IFC, STEP and USDZ, with seven of them on Plus and above, SKP on Creator and above and IFC and STEP on Business. SKP carries mesh, materials and textures; USDZ carries static meshes and materials. IFC is a semantic handoff, while STEP contains faceted surfaces without parametric history. Ask the recipient which format fits and inspect the result in the destination.[4]
