Casa Puente: one-bedroom plan with a kitchen between separate rooms
Explore Casa Puente, a study of ResPlan plan 16703: one-bedroom plan with a kitchen between separate rooms.
Casa Puente is the editorial name for this study of ResPlan plan 16703, reconstructed in 3D by Lodnor. The kitchen links the bedroom on one side to the living room on the other through separate doorways. A pair of bathrooms sits along the lower edge of the drawing, one reached from the bedroom and one from the kitchen.
Separate rooms connected by a working room
Casa Puente uses the kitchen to link the bedroom and living room through separate doorways. Unlike an open shared zone, this layout makes the kitchen a defined room within the journey. Understanding that role is essential before proposing an island, additional counter or enlarged dining footprint.
The public model reports an approximate overall width and depth of 10.77 × 5.75 m. Those are model bounds, not internal room measurements or a usable floor-area calculation; recesses and wall thickness make that distinction relevant here.

Bathroom access reinforces the kitchen crossing
One bathroom is reached from the bedroom and the other from the kitchen. The kitchen therefore serves a bathroom route as well as the connection between major rooms. A furnishing option that improves cooking while closing a doorway approach would compromise another everyday use of the plan.
Plan clear zones before adding an island
An island is only a hypothetical proposal here; the published reconstruction does not establish that it fits. First identify where people pass through the kitchen and where someone would stand to work. These may overlap, making a simpler perimeter arrangement the better candidate for dimensioned review.
Test a kitchen addition against every connection
On an overhead view, mark bedroom, living-room and bathroom doorways in the kitchen. Sketch an island-sized rectangle as a proposed addition, without claiming a standard size fits. Draw the three connections around it and identify the narrowest point requiring an actual measurement.
The island sketch is only useful if all kitchen doorways remain part of the review; check the passing space with a person working beside the proposal.
