Casa Quiebro: notched two-bedroom plan with an L-shaped living room
Explore Casa Quiebro, a study of ResPlan plan 290: notched two-bedroom plan with an L-shaped living room.
Casa Quiebro is the editorial name for this study of ResPlan plan 290, reconstructed in 3D by Lodnor. The living area turns around two bedrooms at opposite corners and continues into a partly enclosed kitchen bay. Two bathrooms sit beside the upper bedroom, with one bay recessed below the outer edge.
The living room turns around private corners
Casa Quiebro combines an L-shaped living area with bedrooms at opposite corners and a partly enclosed kitchen. The bathroom pair sits beside the upper bedroom, with one bay recessed below the outer edge. The resulting form should be read as a sequence of turns rather than one broad open room.
At approximately 9.86 × 8.57 m across its model bounds, this reconstruction gives a scale for comparing the room relationships. Multiplying those figures would describe a bounding rectangle rather than verified usable area, and the displayed furniture does not establish clearance.

Two partial boundaries shape the shared route
The L-shaped living room and partly enclosed kitchen produce related but distinct transitions. A furniture arrangement can leave the kitchen opening clear while narrowing the bend toward a bedroom. Follow the full route around the corner rooms and toward the bathroom cluster before assessing the shared space’s apparent openness.
Preserve the notch while improving the interior
The recessed bathroom bay creates a notch that should remain visible in the study. It does not establish an exterior amenity or spare room. For an interior proposal, use the larger living arm for major furniture and assess the smaller arm chiefly as a connection before assigning it another function.
Review both bends in one arrangement
Locate the kitchen opening and the bend around the upper bedroom. Sketch a dining arrangement near the kitchen and seating in the other living arm. Trace the route between them and toward the bathroom pair, identifying whether two individually plausible groups create one combined obstruction.
The combined furniture groups should be checked at both bends, with the recessed bathroom cluster still visible; two isolated good fits can create an obstructed connecting route.
