Casa Paso Ancho: Stepped two-bedroom plan with a wide kitchen-side passage
Stepped two-bedroom plan with a wide kitchen-side passage. A layout study from ResPlan 9946.
Casa Paso Ancho is the editorial name for this two-bedroom layout study based on ResPlan 9946. The public tour offers a way to inspect room connections and boundaries; the name does not identify a built residence or commissioned renovation.
Reading the Casa Paso Ancho layout
The bedrooms line one side, separated by a horizontal bathroom, while the kitchen and living area occupy the other. A broad open connection links the kitchen to the living area beside a second bathroom, and the upper bedroom projects beyond the kitchen edge.
The public model reports an approximate overall envelope of 9.603 × 9.614 m, with a modeled height of 3 m. These figures describe the reconstruction, not usable floor area, individual room dimensions or a verified building survey.

How the room routes connect
Casa Paso Ancho makes the kitchen-to-living connection conspicuous, yet that broad opening shares its edge with a bathroom. Follow both destinations before choosing dining furniture. On the opposite side, the bathroom between bedrooms breaks what might otherwise look like a continuous private strip. Routes to the upper projecting room and lower bedroom need separate checks at their local thresholds.
A furniture decision to compare
The obvious design opportunity is keeping the broad opening useful while establishing a place to eat nearby. A table can organize the shared side if circulation passes beside it; it can also consume the opening once chairs are in use. Retain the upper-bedroom projection in comparisons, because the kitchen setback changes the wall available next to that dining proposal.
Review exercise: Casa Paso Ancho
Trace two routes from the living room: one into the kitchen and one toward the bathroom beside the open connection. Add a hypothetical dining footprint between them and pull a chair back. Compare with a table farther from the bathroom approach. Finally check that the bedroom-side routes remain visible rather than treating the broad opening as the only circulation problem.
