Casa Eje Largo: Full-depth living room between two bedroom bays

Full-depth living room between two bedroom bays. A layout study from ResPlan 7718.

Casa Eje Largo is the editorial name for this two-bedroom layout study based on ResPlan 7718. The public tour offers a way to inspect room connections and boundaries; the name does not identify a built residence or commissioned renovation.

Reading the Casa Eje Largo layout

A long central living room separates two bedroom bays and connects to the kitchen at one end. Two bathrooms sit together above one bedroom, while the kitchen stops short of the other bedroom to form a step in the outline.

The public model reports an approximate overall envelope of 10.201 × 7.282 m, with a modeled height of 3 m. These figures describe the reconstruction, not usable floor area, individual room dimensions or a verified building survey.

How the room routes connect

Casa Eje Largo places movement along the depth of the living room rather than beside a separate long corridor. Follow the kitchen-to-bedroom paths from both ends: the bedroom bays lie on different sides, so seating can obstruct one approach while leaving the other apparently open. The paired bathrooms above one bedroom add an asymmetry worth retaining in every comparison.

A furniture decision to compare

A long room can be furnished across its width or as a sequence along its axis. Test the sequence here: a dining position nearer the kitchen and seating farther along, with a continuous walking side. The kitchen setback should stay legible at the end of the room; visually extending that bay would alter the reason the bedroom footprint projects beyond it.

Review exercise: Casa Eje Largo

Select a camera aligned with the living room’s long direction. Identify the kitchen end and both bedroom approaches, then compare two hypothetical sofa orientations. Trace the same kitchen-to-bedroom journeys in each. Turn to an overhead view to confirm that the paired bathroom group and the stepped kitchen edge remain correctly located in your reading.
